Unwinding Systems for Secondary Backing
Controlled unwinding of secondary backing is an absolute must to ensure a stable and safe laminating process.
Unwinding cradle combined with a J-box as buffer
For traditional, tufted carpets with secondary backing an unwinding cradle combined with a minor J-box as buffer during roll change offers more advantages. The J-box is equipped with a load cell roller synchronizing the inlet with the outlet during most of the time where the line is operating with an empty J-box.
Center unwinder with flying splice
For the production of automotive carpets with a light PU foam as secondary backing more center unwinders with flying splice are used. In this way an optimum material transport is ensured, which is very important for the finished product.
Center unwinder with roller accumulator as buffer
For carpet tile productions among others, where an extremely thin and light covering nonwoven is used, a center unwinder combined with a roller accumulator is the right choice. As the unwinder can lift the new rolls from the floor, it is very user-friendly, and the accumulator ensures a continuous production and a 100% constant material tension, which is important during the laminating process.
